Exercise Q: How can I set up an appointment with a physical therapist? A: If you have a prescription from a physician for physical therapy, you should call us at (630) 466-5866 for the Sugar Grove office or (630) 262-2633 for the Geneva office and schedule an appointment. If you do not have a prescription but have a condition or pain that deserves attention, you should call one of our offices and schedule a consultation with a therapist. In the state of Illinois, physical therapists may evaluate a patient; however, a written diagnosis from a physician is needed in order to treat a condition. As we believe in early intervention, all attempts are made for you to be seen within 24 hours of your call. swiss ball All attempts are made to accommodate the needs of our patients. We understand the need for flexibility and will adjust our hours depending on your need. weight training Vibration Soft Tissue: This soft tissue therapy technique will assist with relaxation of tense muscles and encourage energy flow throughout your body. A light soothing touch with gradual increasing intensity is combined with vibration to reduce stress, muscle tension, and improve circulation. This massage promotes a state of deep relaxation and helps reduce any pain or stiffness. weight training Shoulder Injuries rotator cuff strain, Impingement Syndrome, separations, dislocations/fractures, total shoulder replacements, "frozen" shoulders, post surgical procedures, biceps tendonitis and ruptures. Cervical Sports Deep Soft Tissue: This is ideal for those who like deep soft tissue work. A combination of techniques is used to relieve soreness and restrictions found in the muscles. This massage tends to relieve the deeper muscle tissues, as the pressure is more intense. West Physical Therapy Q: Do I get to choose my physical therapist? A: Yes! You have the right. Just as you would choose your doctor, based on word-of-mouth from friends or family, you can choose your physical therapist. Once decided on West Physical Therapy, PC, it is your option to select your personal physical therapist from any of those in our group. The therapist you choose will manage the great majority of your care. Your therapist will meet with you and direct you in your care and determine if other practitioner's input may also assist you in your healing. Massage Q: How long do treatments take? A: Expect each visit to last at least one hour. Treatment in some cases and conditions may last up to 2 hours. Disc herniations Deep Tissue Massage: This is an ideal massage for those who are familiar with massage. A combination of techniques is used to relieve stress-related points found in the muscles and tendons. This massage tends to relieve the deeper muscle tissues, as the pressure is more intense. Lymphatic Drainage Massage Q: What should I wear for physical therapy treatment? A: You should wear comfortable workout clothes and shoes that you will be able to move freely in. It is important that you wear loose-fitting clothing to enable the therapist to examine and treat the injured area. Please bring shorts if you have a lower extremity injury or a spine condition.
